Did you read the October 4, 2017 article in the Sacramento Bee “Pension costs ‘crowding out’ spending on parks, schools and social services, report says”?
I suppose any agency or organization can assume this train of thought to transfer blame to the working class, “It’s not our fault we can’t hire more people to do the job – we have to provide a pension.”
How about explaining why it is a good thing to pay a decent livable wage with benefits and retirement to public servants? Long ago, the idea was public servants would not revert towards bribes and larceny if they were paid decently and could look forward to a good retirement plan. So far, it’s worked very well. Just go south of the border to see what happens when public servants aren’t paid well and receive little to no benefits.
